“What sets Nancy apart in the digital marketing landscape is her unconventional approach. Unlike cliché practices, Nancy focuses on formalizing the brand first and then utilizing data to drive its growth and evolution.”
Fashion is not simply the category. It is the context.
I began my career when brand was everything. I built my consultancy in the era when data changed everything. My work is knowing how to use both without allowing one to flatten the other.

Nearly 40 years inside the business of fashion.
Before founding brand + data, I held senior roles with Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino and Men’s Vogue.
I also co-founded an internet and technology company that developed marketing applications for the media and entertainment industries—long before “digital transformation” became a consulting phrase.
I founded brand + data in 2006 to help fashion, jewelry and lifestyle businesses navigate change while protecting the judgment, taste and emotional clarity that make a brand worth choosing.
One industry veteran who can see the whole business—and stay close enough to help change it.
Pattern recognition
Experience across brands and business cycles helps me separate signal from noise and recognize what may be coming next.
Clear direction
I tell you what I see, what matters now and what I would do next—so there is always a clear path forward.
Small-brand realities
I understand small-brand realities: limited budgets, lean teams, inventory pressure and founders carrying too much at once.
Personal investment
I only take on work when I believe I can help. Many relationships last five years or more because I become part of the business.
A few outside perspectives.
“Rock-N-Shop produced by brand + data is a pop-up shopping event founded by Nancy Berger.”
“Nobody’s looking at your condo building? Open a pop-up store, created by Nancy Berger, in one of the apartments.”
“I care deeply about the brands I work with.”
My goal is not simply to help them grow, but to help them thrive—without losing what made them special in the first place.
